Visa Company has launched the 'Visa Everywhere Initiative 2021' global innovation program and idea competition for fin-tech companies, a source in the company told Trend on Feb.10.
According to the source, in 2021, the program will focus on expanding financial inclusion and payment acceptance opportunities. Fin-tech companies from all over the world will be able to present their ideas.
As the source noted, at the first stage, all candidates from Azerbaijan were invited to participate in the competition for the Central Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) region. The regional winners will have the opportunity to take part in a global competition.
"We look forward to seeing a lot of brilliant ideas from Azerbaijan and other CIS countries," said Vera Platonova, senior vice president and regional director of Visa for the CIS and Southeast Europe.
Platonova noted that support of companies that create solutions ensuring smooth cash flow is a top priority for Visa, also stressing that fin-tech is the driving force of innovations.
The source concluded that the participants must submit applications in English for the CEMEA competition by May 7, 2021, with the final of the regional competition scheduled for June 8, 2021. The final stage of the global competition is scheduled to be held on September 14 this year.
