Georgia has one of the fastest recovery rates in the world, said Deputy Minister of Economy Mariam Kvrivishvili, Trend reports via Georgian media.
“In July 2021, we managed to bring back 79 percent of the airlines that operated in Georgia in 2019. We returned back some 75 percent of those countries with which we had direct traffic," she said.
According to her, air traffic is restored with 72 percent of destinations and flight frequencies are back to 74 percent of the previous levels.
“It is unfortunate that despite some positive results, which are reflected in trends of the aviation sector, some people think that this is happening on its own and is not the result of proper management. I think this is a groundless assessment and on the contrary, we must be proud of the achieved results,” she said.
