Iran shares data on its trade turnover via customs of Mazandaran Province

Iran's foreign trade turnover through the customs of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) amounted to about 1.87 million tons worth $748 million during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), Director-General of Mazandaran Province Customs Office, Ali Yousefimanesh said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The director general noted that the trade turnover through the province's customs increased by 43 percent in terms of value, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Yousefimanesh also added that about 447,000 tons of goods worth about $135 million were exported through the Mazandaran Province's customs in 6 months. The exports increased by 45 percent in terms of value and 27 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“Iran exported 135,000 tons of goods worth $31 million to Russia, 106,000 tons worth $9 million to Kazakhstan, 104,000 tons worth $9 million to Turkmenistan, 66,000 tons worth $54 million to Iraq and 2,000 tons worth $3 million to Romania through the customs of Mazandaran Province,” he said.

According to the director general, the exported goods were mainly cement, minerals, white oil and crude oil, dairy products, wood materials, rubber, various food stuffs, paper, various metals and etc.

Yousefimanesh stressed that moreover, 1.4 million tons of goods worth about $614 million were imported through the customs of Mazandaran Province over six months, which is an increase of 43 percent in terms of value and 6 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

"So, Iran imported 564,000 tons of goods worth $266 million from Russia, 299,000 tons worth $113 million from the UAE, 286,000 tons worth $96.2 million from Kazakhstan, 80,000 tons worth $42 million from Turkey, 42,000 tons worth $37.4 million from Turkmenistan through the province’s customs.

The director general added that main imported goods through the province’s customs were animal feed, soybeans, animal fats and vegetable oils, petroleum coke, equipment and spare parts.

Furthermore, 71,000 tons of goods worth $74 million were transited through Mazandaran Province’s customs in 6 months. This is an increase of more than 100 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, Yousefimanesh said.
