Azerbaijan increased marketable gas production by 17.8 percent from January through February 2022 on annual basis, Trend reports referring to the country’s Statistical Committee.

According to the committee, in the reporting period, industrial enterprises and individual businessmen working in this area manufactured industrial products worth 13.1 billion manat ($7.7 billion), which is 4.6 percent more than in the same period of 2021.

Meanwhile, production in the oil and gas sector increased by 1.4 percent, and in the non-oil sector - by 20.8 percent.

Some 72.9 percent of the manufactured industrial products accounted for the mining sector, 22.4 percent - processing sector, 4.2 percent - the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.5 percent - the sector of water supply, waste treatment and recycling.

Commercial oil production in the mining sector for the first two months of this year decreased by 6.4 percent.

At the same time, manufacturing f other vehicles increased by 5.1 times, cars, trailers and semi-trailers - 2.3 times, building materials - by 83.8 percent, electrical equipment - 78.2 percent, furniture - 75.9 percent, ready-made metal products - 53.6 percent, chemical industry products - by 48.3 percent, leather and leather products, footwear - by 44.5 percent, machinery and equipment - by 43.3 percent.

Besides, manufacturing of pharmaceutical products rose by 42.6 percent, products of the metallurgical industry - by 41.8 percent, computer, electronic and optical products - by 39.6 percent, printing products - by 37 percent, oil products - by 25.4 percent, paper and cardboard - by 24.6 percent, rubber and plastic products - by 23.2 percent, and food products - by 14.1 percent, and clothes - 12.3 percent.

Along with the above, manufacturing in the field of installation and repair work on machinery and equipment decreased by 9.7 percent, tobacco products - by 10.3 percent, in the textile industry - by 11.2 percent, beverages - by 15.6 percent, wood processing and manufacturing of products from it - by 27.8 percent.

The output in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam increased by 5.1 percent, and in the sector of water supply, waste treatment and recycling - by 12.8 percent.
