Azerbaijan and Belarus have potential possibilities to increase the external trade turnover between the two countries by 5 times, the Belarusian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Nikolai Pashkevich, said during the meeting with the Azerbaijani Tax Minister, Fazil Mammadov, Trend reports quoting the Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes.
According to the Ambassador, presently the trade turnover between the two countries amounts to $30 mln, but this figure does not reflect the real possibilities, and therefore, there is need to widely use the existing potential. Belarus is interested in participating in many projects of Azerbaijan. Broad opportunities exist in the sphere of machine building. The Ganja Car Factory possesses such technological lines, which is impossible to see in Belarus, the Ambassador said.
The Belarusian business people are interested in organizing the assemblage of the cars. According to the Ambassador, conditions will be created to decrease the prime cost of this production and to find access to the near markets. Two contracts have already been signed to realize this project. In addition, he informed about the interest of the business people in the potential of Sabunchu Machine-Building Plant and Machine-Building Plant named after B.Sardarov. He considers that there are all conditions in Azerbaijan to produce tractors and other agricultural techniques.
The Minister supported the efforts of the Ambassador to expand the relations. The country has opportunities to increase the attractiveness of the investment climate for Belarusian business people, Mammadov said. He offered to study the possibilities of using the potentials of Azerbaijan Investment Company. The Minister expressed readiness to render all kind of assistances to the Belarusian Embassy to establish economical relations.
