The State Agency for Standardization, Metrology, and Patents has acquired a laboratory where hazel nuts will be sent to pass expertise examination to the content of aftolaxin.

Ramiz Hassanov, the Director General of the State Agency, informed Trend that presently, work is being carried out in this direction, and that the country has lifted the ban on hazel nuts export.

There have been no troubles with the export of hazel nuts from the country, however, the official permission may be given only after certain checks and researches are carried out in the special laboratory, said Mr. Hassanov.

According to him, no appeals connected with this issue have been received by the State Agency this year yet.

Notably, the ban on the export of the nuts to European countries was imposed by the State Agency in 2006. The decision was inevitable due to the detection of aftolaxin in the content of nuts.
