Azerbaijan, Moldova, Belarus, Ukraine and Russia prepared a new project of the Intergovernmental Agreement on simplifying the procedures of selling fruits and vegetables at their territories. The necessity of preparing the project emerged due to the completion of the validity of the previous agreement signed in 2000, Trend reports with reference to the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan.
Although the agreement had been prolonged in 2005, it was devised again on the initiative of Moldova due to the change of the situation in 2006.
Agreement was sent to the Azerbaijan Government, taking into consideration the proposals which were sent to the Moldavian side. It had to be discussed and agreed with other states.
The agreement envisages creating green corridor to provide privileged conditions for the transition of the vulnerable products without delays. In addition, the list of goods will be decreased, the same source said. The agreement will not resolve the primary problem between Azerbaijan and Russia. Due to the problems with Chechnya, the customs control on the Azerbaijan-Russian border was strengthened although all items were taken out, except the 100% inspection of all goods exported from Azerbaijan.
In addition, the goods pass through Derbend where there is an opportunity to organize customs points and it causes delays. Azerbaijan appealed to the Russian side to liquidate this point at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, but the question was taken out from the agenda.
In addition, Azerbaijan Government raised the question of weak trade turnover with Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, which is caused by the issue that the deliveries pass through certain territories and as a result, problems emerge. The document is intended to strengthen the commercial-economical relations among the countries.
