Azerbaijan state air company AZAL informed Trend on February 6th that the payment for the purchase of 5 new airliners from Boeing will be made in 2009.
The budget for the contract signed in Baku on February 6th between AZAL General Director, Jahangir Asgarov, and the President and Executive Director General of Boeing-Civil Airliners, Scott Karson, is $401mln.
AZAL said that the delivery of all 5 airliners will be made in 2010.
Funds for the purchase of these craft will be provided by US Exim Bank as a loan.
Under the contract Azerbaijan purchased three Boeing 787s and two 737-900 ERs.
