Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Aliyev / In January-May 2007, cargo transportations by transport enterprises (excluding pipelines) increased in the CIS countries by 7%, and trade increased by 9%, compared to the same period in 2006, according to the CIS Statistics Committee's report.
The largest amount of goods was transported in Russia - 794.3mln t. The most dramatic increase in transportation occurred in Moldova - 121.5% and Tajikistan - 121%, while the most dramatic decrease was registered in Russia - 105.3%. In Azerbaijan, cargo transportation dropped to 99.1%.
The most profound trade changes appeared in Kyrgyzstan - an increase of 135.4%, and in Kazakhstan - a decrease of 107.1%. A decrease in trade was also registered in Moldova - 97.1% and Azerbaijan - 90.2%.
