Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 25 / Trend /

Diagnostics, Ecology and Dataware won a Gazprom tender to repair the Mozdok-Qazimuhammad gas pipeline.

The tender commission declared Diagnostics, Ecology and Dataware the winner.

Earlier the company won a tender to analyze the pipeline.

Gazprom issued two tenders to perform a geotechnical diagnosis of the pipeline and screen the pipes stretching for 31 kilometers, and to analyze the pipeline.

Gazprom will finance the repairs.

The geotechnical tender was declared invalid as only one application was received.

Azerigaz head Alikhan Malikov said Azerbaijan is considering expanding the pipeline's capacity through its territory.

"We received an appeal. But the issue has not been considered," Malikov said.

The throughput capacity of the pipeline is 10 billion cubic meters per year.

Earlier Russia delivered natural gas to Azerbaijan.

Since 2007, Azerbaijan stopped purchasing gas from Russia.

In late December 2008, Gazprom and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) began talks to deliver Azerbaijani gas to Russia.

Gazprom intends to purchase gas as part of the second phase of development of the Shah Deniz field, a high-ranking SOCAR official said.

In 2009, SOCAR will produce 8 billion cubic meters of gas from its own fields.
