Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadienjad will inaugurate Imam Khomeini Refinery of Shazand, which aims to increase the production capacity and improve the quality of gasoline, on Wednesday, Mehr News Agency reported on Tuesday.
Thanks to commissioning two development plans at the Imam Khomeini refinery, the daily gasoline output at the refinery will increase to 8.3 million liters from 4 million liters.
It is projected that the refinery will boost its gasoline production capacity to 16 million liters per day by the end of the current calendar year (March 2012).
The Shazand refinery's development plan was launched in September 2006 by an Iranian consortium and a Chinese company.
