Azerbaijan will carry out security work (technical, environmental, etc.) of storage facilities in the frame of improving the gas supply during 2013-2016.
It is stated in the draft of the state budget of Azerbaijan for 2013 and the next three years, submitted to the Parliament.
Azerbaijan has two underground gas storage facilities - Kalmaz and Garadag. It is expected that the volume of gas in underground facilities in Azerbaijan this year could reach 3.5-3.7 billion cubic meters.
According to the draft, it is planned to improve the organizational structure and legal framework in the field of gas facilities in the frame of improving the quality of gas supply; the work on the dynamic development of the gas industry is provided along with improvement of the country's gas supply.
The study and application of economy technology and equipment is provided in the frame of improving the gas supply. Periodic cleaning and reconstruction of roof and chimney is planned in order to ensure the safety. The application of counters, working on the basis of modern technologies, and the introduction of online payments is provided in order to improve the mechanism of control and organization of the accounting.
