Oil and gas from the Kurdish Autonomy of Iraq will be supplied to world markets through Turkey, the Anadolu Agency has quoted the autonomy's Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani as saying.

An oil pipeline will be built for this purpose, which will link the field of the Kurdish Autonomy with Turkish ports, Barzani said.

He said oil and gas sector of the Kurdish Autonomy experiences revival in recent years, which attracts many foreign companies.

Earlier, officials in the Iraqi government criticized the cooperation of the Kurdish Autonomy and Turkey in the energy field.

Ties between the Kurdish administration in northern Iraq and Baghdad deteriorated in October 2011 after U.S.-based Exxon Mobil received permission from the Kurdish authorities on the exploration and production of oil in this Iraqi region.

Baghdad considered the deal to be illegal and warned the company that if it did not abandon the agreement with the Kurds, its deals with the central Iraqi government may be revised.

The Kurdish administration in northern Iraq has oil reserves of 45 billion barrels.
