Georgia imported around 146,660 tons of oil and oil products from January to July 2013, which amounted to $135.36 million, GruzStat (Georgian National Statistical Service) reported.

In total, about $471.78 million worth oil products were imported by Georgia in January-July, 2013. This means Azerbaijan provides 28.69 per cent of the country's imports in this category.

According to the report, taking an annual calculation, the volume of oil and oil products imported by Georgia from Azerbaijan decreased by 31.08 per cent (quantitatively by 26.63 per cent or 53.240 tons). In comparison, Georgia imported about $196.41 million worth of 199,900 tons of oil products in January-July, 2012.

The specific weight of oil and oil products amounted to 42.49 per cent in the total volume of imports from Azerbaijan.

Georgia imported $318.56 million worth of products from Azerbaijan in January-July, 2013. In total, about $4.19 billion worth of product was imported by Georgia, from January to July, 2013, which is 5.1 per cent lower than the same period of 2012.
