The oil production in Kazakhstan amounted to 42.3 billion cubic meters in 2013, Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Uzakbai Karabalin said on Jan.27 at an extended collegium of the ministry with participation of the country's Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov.

The production volume of commercial gas in Kazakhstan amounted to 22.8 billion cubic meters, according to the minister. The volume of natural gas consumption in the republic's provinces amounted to 10.9 billion cubic meters.

The minister stressed that the volume of Kazakhstan's gas export amounted to 8.6 billion cubic meters. Around 99.146 billion cubic meters of gas was transported through the country's territory during the reported period.

Some 2.4 million tons of liquefied hydrocarbonic gas was produced in Kazakhstan during the reporting period, according to Karabalin. The volume of natural gas reserves in the country's underground gas storage facilities amounted to 0.9 billion cubic meters as of January 1, 2014.

Currently, Kazakhstan continues the development of Amangeldy gas field in Zhambyl province. The gas production at this field amounted to 321.8 million cubic meters in 2013.
