Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR carries out drilling work of the third well at the Umid gas and condensate field in the Caspian Sea, SOCAR's senior representative told Trend April 4.
The well's drilling have been completed by more than half, according to him.
"The well is horizontal and its projected depth is over 6,000 meters," said the representative.
The daily production debit of two existing wells at the Umid field varies between 1.1-1.5 million cubic meters of gas.
SOCAR reported the discovery of the Umid field in 2010. The results of drilling of the first exploration well show that the volume of field's reserves is more than 200 billion cubic meters of gas and 40 million tons of condensate, according to SOCAR assessments.
