Baku, Azerbaijan, May 20
By Maksim Tsurkov - Trend:

Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR extracted 2.11 billion cubic meters of gas from the country's offshore and onshore fields in January-April 2016 using its own funds, versus 2.23 billion cubic meters extracted in the same period of 2015, said SOCAR in a message posted on its website May 20.

In addition to its own production, SOCAR gets gas from the Shah Deniz and Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields (associated gas) by developing these fields in cooperation with foreign partners.

Total volume of the gas extracted from these fields and the ones developed independently was 9.95 billion cubic meters in January-April 2016 versus 9.9 billion cubic meters produced in January-April 2015.

SOCAR includes the companies producing oil and gas onshore and offshore, as well as the Azneft production association, Azerkimya, which includes chemical industry enterprises, and Azerigaz, which distributes the produced gas in Azerbaijan.

The company also includes oil and gas processing plants, service companies, and institutions for geophysical and drilling operations.
