Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan reached an agreement at the highest level to develop cooperation in the energy and transport spheres, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in his letter to Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Mirziyoyev, who was on a working visit to Turkmenistan May 19-20, noted in his letter special importance of the agreements reached regarding the work on promising projects in the development of fields at the Caspian shelf, the use of the opportunities of the modern Turkmenbashi International Seaport, as well as organization of electricity transit.
The meetings, which took place in the traditionally open and confidential atmosphere, once again demonstrated the achieved high level of good-neighborly relations and strategic partnership, reads the letter.
Mirziyoyev in his letter also expressed support for the active efforts of Turkmenistan for the creation of an efficient transport and transit infrastructure in the Central Asian region.
