By Maksim Tsurkov – Trend:

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR plans to increase the number of its filling stations up to 32 in Azerbaijan by the end of 2019, says an article by Elshad Nasirov, SOCAR vice-president for investments and marketing, published in a special issue of the Iki Sahil newspaper.

Nasirov noted that SOCAR Petroleum CJSC (a subsidiary of SOCAR) operates 11 oil depots and 25 filling stations, which sell petroleum products of Euro-4 standard, in Azerbaijan.

“In 2017-2019, it is planned to build and commission seven more filling stations in the country,” says the article.

Meanwhile, a source in SOCAR told Trend that the new filling stations will be built both in Baku and in regions of the country.

The 25th filling station of SOCAR was opened in the Goranboy district of Azerbaijan.

Currently, SOCAR is the sole producer of petroleum products in the country, and operates more than 400 filling stations in Switzerland, Georgia, Romania and Ukraine.
