Turkey discloses sum of investments put in energy sector

Turkey’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources told Trend Nov. 6 that $4 billion were invested in the energy sector in nine months of 2017.

The ministry said 116 power plants were put into operation during the period.

Investments in Turkey’s energy sector may exceed $6 billion until the end of 2017, said the ministry.

Earlier, the ministry told Trend that development of private energy sector as well as the renewable energy sector is a priority for Turkey.

Turkey plans to invest $11 billion in its energy sector in 2017-2023.
