Oil companies’ expenditures on social initiatives up in Azerbaijan

Expenditures on social initiatives as part of BP projects in Azerbaijan amounted to almost $5.73 million in January-September 2017 as compared to $0.91 million in the same period of 2016, says a BP Azerbaijan report on results of the three quarters of 2017.

As part of the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields, such expenditures totaled $415,000, Shah Deniz gas condensate field – $241,800, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines – $999,800 in the period.

BP, which is a participant of all the abovementioned energy projects, spent almost $4.07 million as part of its own social initiatives.

In 2016, expenditures on social initiatives, as part of projects operated by BP, amounted to $1.51 million, as compared to $4.5 million in 2015.
