Baku, Azerbaijan, April 13

By Ali Mustafayev – Trend:

Uzbekistan has resumed gas supplies to Tajikistan, after previously halting the supplies in 2012, "Uzbekistan 24" TV channel reported.

At the initial stage, gas will be provided to the border settlements of Tajikistan.

Deliveries of Uzbek gas to Tajikistan started due to the agreements, previously signed between the heads of the two states.

Tajikistan’s Tursunzadevsky district will be fully provided with Uzbek gas. Uzbekistan also plans to expand coverage of supply of Tajik border settlements with gas in the near future.

Gas deliveries will be carried out on two strings of the "Muzrabad-Dushanbe" gas pipeline with a capacity of 125,000 cubic meters of gas per hour.
