By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

The project on the transportation of crude oil from the Goureh oil terminal in Iran’s Bushehr province in southern Iran to the Jask oil terminal in the Gulf of Oman will be launched next Iranian year (begins March 21, 2020), CEO of the Iranian Petroleum Engineering and Development Company Touraj Dehqani said, Trend reports referring to National Iranian Petroleum Company (NIOC).

"Under the project, a 42-inch pipeline of a length of 1,000 kilometers will be built. About 200 km of the pipeline is ready. The purpose of project is the transportation of 1 million barrels of crude oil from the Goureh oil terminal to the Jask oil terminal. A portion of the transported oil will be reserved at the terminal, while some volume will be exported or used n the downstream industry," Dehqani said.

Dehqani added that for the first time, 100 percent of pipeline suitable for sour oil was produced in Iran.

The problems with the supply of the pumping stations in the Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline project have already been resolved, as Iran has produced 50 large pumps, CEO said.

“At present, there is a 25-percent improvement in the crude oil transportation project from the Goureh to Jask. This project also envisages the transportation of gas condensate to the east of the Strait of Hormuz.” Dehqani said.

He added that 30 Iranian companies, engaged in production, engineering, consultancy and engineering, are operating within this project.

The construction of the 1,000-kilometer pipeline with more than $1.8 billion of funds is on the agenda of NIOC and carried out by local contractors.
