Eni will adopt measures to ensure continuity of operations

Italy’s Eni company will adopt measures to ensure continuity of operations, the company told Trend.

“Since the beginning of the COVID-19 emergency, Eni has been monitoring the evolution of the epidemic in order to guarantee its employees and contractors working in its workplaces all the appropriate measures for their maximum protection, in line with World Health Organization prescriptions and in close coordination with local authorities in all countries of operations,” said Eni.

The company said it has implemented and will implement all measures necessary to protect the health of its people.

“The company will nevertheless adopt measures to ensure continuity of operations and energy supply to hosting countries,” said Eni.

Eni company earlier said it will reduce capital expenditures (Capex) in 2020 by around 2 billion euros, equal to 25 oercent of the total Capex planned.

Eni has concluded in advance a revision to its planned activities as a result of the sharp decrease in commodities prices and the foreseeable constraints arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Operating expenditures (opex) are planned to be reduced by around 400 million euros for 2020.

In 2021, Eni expects a Capex reduction of around 2.5-3 billion euros, equal to 30-35 percent of the capex scheduled for the same year in the business Plan.
