Revenues of Iran's Shazand Oil Refinery sharply increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5

By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

Iranian Shazand Oil Refinery company's revenue has increased with the transportation of visbreaker gasoline to the RFCC (Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracking) unit, the company told Trend.

The company's revenue increased by 1.1 trillion rials (about $26.1 million) a year from the production of quality products.

“The transportation of low-quality products to storage facilities has been stopped and this gasoline has started to be converted into Euro-4 standard gasoline in the RFCC reactor,” report said.

According to the report, visbreaker gasoline was not used as a final product due to its olefin content. On the other hand, its processing led to many problems in the downstream industry.

“Since the construction of the company's processing plant, visbreaker gasoline containing olefins has been transported to slops storage facilities. It is sometimes burned in boilers as a light fuel, sometimes returned to the plant's crude oil storage facilities and re-processed. In both cases, the product polluted the environment and reduced the plant's crude oil refining capacity,” said the company.

Shazand (Imam Khomeini) Oil Refinery Company was launched in 1993 with the capacity to process 150,000 barrels of oil per day. The company currently processes more than 250,000 barrels of oil.

Shazand Imam Khomeini Oil Refining Company produces more than 17 million liters of gasoline and 12 million liters of diesel in accordance with Euro 4 standards. In addition, the company produces 500 tons of propylene, 400 tons of granular sulfur and 2,000 tons of liquefied gas per day.
