Fuel oil prices plummet in Kazakhstan amid COVID-19

Prices of Kazakhstan’s industrial manufacturers have decreased by 12.2 percent in July 2020 compared to Dec. 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Decrease of prices was observed in country’s mining industry by 24.3 percent, whereas prices' increase was observed in processing industry by 1.7 percent. Prices of industrial goods decreased by 13.8 percent, while services of industrial nature increased by 4 percent.

During the reporting period, prices of fuel oil decreased by 49.7 percent, liquefied propane and butane by 33.7 percent, oil by 31.6 percent, gasoline by 11.6 percent, diesel fuel by 10.1 percent, natural gas by 1.9 percent. In turn, prices of metal ores increased by 10.5 percent, and coal by 1 percent.

Prices of zinc decreased by 14.5 percent, lead by 9.9 percent, aluminum by 8.3 percent, whereas increase of prices was observed on precious metals by 12.5 percent, ferroalloys by 6.2 percent, rolled ferrous metals by 4.2 percent, and copper by 3.8 percent.

The increase in prices was observed on wheat flour and cereals by 10.5 percent, sugar by 9.2 percent, tea by 6.9 percent, rye flour by 6.5 percent, pasta by 6.3 percent, dairy food products by 5 percent, rice by 4.6 percent, bread by 4.3 percent, vegetable oil by 3.6 percent, cattle meat by 7.1 percent, and poultry meat by 1.9 percent.
