Mega Block Investment LLC, a company for the production of gas blocks located in the village of Nurabad, Akhangaran district of Tashkent region, produced lime products, illegally using natural gas, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy in Uzbekistan.

According to the information, Mega Block Investment LLC has a gas supply agreement with the Khududgaz Tashkent branch, which specifies only equipment for the production of aerated concrete and household gas appliances with a total hourly gas consumption of 431,840 cubic meters.

However, on December 7, 2020, during an actual visit by representatives of the structure of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan to this production, it was found that it was additionally equipped with 313 home-made gas burners for the production of lime in three home-made.

At the same time, Mega Block Investment LLC has significant accounts receivable for used natural gas in the amount of 135 million soums ($12,927) as of November 1, 2020.

In addition, experts have found that the gas metering devices used in the production of aerated concrete, and in household gas appliances, are out of order.

The main reason for this assumption was the lack of recording the readings in the memory of the gas metering device until November 27, 2020, on the basis of which the experts concluded that the gas meters were exposed to external influences.

Mega Block Investment LLC belongs to the category of non-guaranteed consumers for the supply of natural gas in the winter.

The pressure of natural gas in the network at the time the case was detected was 2.7 kilogram of force per square centimeter. Based on the analysis of the current situation, according to preliminary calculations, this enterprise caused a total of 3.1 billion soums ($296,847) of damage. That is, the volume of natural gas theft amounted to 3.2 million cubic meters, which allows a month to supply natural gas for the needs of more than 3,500 households.

“Illegal connections by individuals and legal entities to gas supply networks are also one of the reasons for the drop in gas pressure in the population's network, which leads to appeals from the population to the Ministry of Energy,” the ministry assures.
