Oil&Gas Materials 25 January 2006 14:38 (UTC +04:00)

Azerbaijan delivered gas to Georgia in the volume of about 2,5 million cubic meters on 24 January, the Azerigaz Joint Stock Company (JSC) told Trend. Supplies will be performed till the complete resolving of the problem in Georgia, which arose at the result of the explosion on the Mozdok-Tbilisi gas pipeline, JSC noted. Gas from Russia to Georgia was delivered through this pipeline.

Supplies from Azerbaijan are carried out under the agreement, signed by the Azgaznagl Producing Unit (PU) with the Georgian gas-transporting company. The fuel provided is needed for the partial supply of Tbilisi and uninterruptible operation of the gas-compressor station in Gardabani.

The agreement on gas supplies to Georgia envisions the use of gas only for the countrys own needs without delivering it to the third party.
