The Deepwater Gunashli support bloc construction to be over in September

The Deepwater Gunashli support bloc for drilling, equipped with the engineering and technical provision systems and living quarters is practically ready and is planned to be send for installation this September. The works are performed by Boss Shelf, BP contractor on platform support blocs construction within the frames of the Azeri- Chiraq- Gunashli filed exploration, the deepwater foundations factory named after Heydar Aliyev, hosting the platform` s construction site told Trend.

The DUQ jacket, which is being built at BDJF, is designed to be installed in 175 metres of water depth in Deepwater Gunashli and this jacket is about 67 % complete. The Deepwater Gunashli (ACG Phase 3) Drilling, Utilities and Quarters Platform (DUQ) topsides in-country fabrication progress is 37% complete. The next equipment to be installed on the deck is the switch and control module, which will be put on the deck by the end of April. The living quarters and drilling facilities, which are the only

components of this platform to be fabricated abroad, are substantially complete and will be delivered to the country from Sweden and Holland respectively during the third quarter of this year. Work under the project complete by 48%.

The last jacket to be built for Phase 3 is for the Production, Compression, Water Injection and Utilities Platform (PCWU). The construction of this jacket is approximately 8% complete at BDJF. The last deck to be built for Phase 3 is the PCWU topsides. The construction of this deck has already commenced at the ATA (AmecTekfen-Azfen) yard in Bibi-Heybat with progress to date being over 22%. This deck is planned to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2007. The overall Phase 3 project progress is on schedule and we anticipate the production start up in the second quarter of 2008
