In the closest time, PA Azneft with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan is commencing drilling wells in new location in the southern part of West Absheron block, SOCAR officials told Trend. This well design depth is some 750-800m.
New drilling location is 800m of the previous one. The wells will be drilled from drilling rig Khazar. Five wells will be drilled in total. These bores are suggested to be advance. Upon completion, they will be conserved for following production from platform РёС... бурения РѕРЅРё
SOCAR officials consider open field effective for development due to its closeness to the shore and presence of oil transportation infrastructure. At the moment, the field delimitation and reserves estimation is on.
SOCAR is going to install a producing platform in this part of West Absheron, 40 to 50m offshore. Specialists estimate the field reserves in 1.5mln ton of conventional fuel.
