The official opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) main export oil pipeline was announced a remarkable event in the economic life of Turkey in July 2006. The Turkey-based newspapers and magazines published 1,003 articles in this respect, Trend reports citing the Turkish media.
At the same time the television channels dedicated 36-hour program and news broadcasting to BTC.
Special accent was put on the significance of oil pipeline for the development of the eastern regions of Turkey and the necessity of continuing the regional energy projects.
