Azeri Drilling Company Ltd to Set up Drilling on New Field

Azeri Drilling Company Ltd. purchased rigs produced by the United States and is eager to begin well drilling on Bulla Deniz shortly, Trend reports citing the SOCAR. The drilling will be carried out on the old jacket, which SOCAR did not use, but upgraded for drilling deep gas wells. The project depth of well fluctuates from 6,200 to 6,900 meters. The wells are designed for gas production. Presently, Azeri Drilling Company Ltd continues work over drilling the first well on 8 Mart' field. The well with the project depth of 6,000 meters is drilled from deepwater jacket 759. In general it is planned to drill 10 wells on this field. Presently, preparations for drilling from jacket 730 in this field. The depth of the well is 5,800 meters. By mid-2007 the drilling of 3 wells will be completed and the daily debit of each well is expected to comprise of 300,000 - 400,000 cu.m. of gas. Azeri Drilling Company JV was founded by SOCAR (35%), British Firstdrill Ltd (30%) and Target Petroleum (35%) companies.
