Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr. S. Aliyev/ Production Association "Azneft", engaged in oil and gas production of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), is expected to expand its work on the onshore field of Zeyva-Zaghli located in the Siyazan District of Azerbaijan, a source in SOCAR has reported today.

On the whole, a total of 20 wells are expected to be drilled on the field. Work to determine the exact oil reserves in the field is currently being carried out. Several wells have already been drilled on the well. According to preliminary data, the recoverable reserves of the field are estimated at 3-3.5 mln. tons of oil.

"Three or four wells are expected to be drilled in the field simultaneously. These will be both exploratory as well as appraisal wells," the SOCAR source reported. Notably, Zeyva-Zaghli is one of the most complex of wells in Azerbaijan, where 9-12 % of oil is extracted.

"The issue to increase production is currently underway. That can be attained through applying more sophisticated methods," indicated SOCAR.
