Azerbaijani mobile operator Azerfon and company Vodafone sign agreement on strategic partnership

Mobile phone operator Azerfon OJSC (trade mark Nar Mobile) and the company Vodafone have signed an agreement on an exclusive strategic non-stock partnership on July 22, which plans to provide customers with high quality communication services and to join cooperation on technological development.

Cooperation with Vodafone will allow Azerfon to receive exclusive access in Azerbaijan to a portfolio of products, services and customer equipment provided by Vodafone. The cooperation also includes the use of Vodafone's experience in the global program of purchasing, attracting and serving corporative clients, and improving technological network interaction.    

Vodafone products will be available for current Azerfon customers and their potential clients in Azerbaijan. Presently, Azerfon is constructing a 3G (third generation) network in Azerbaijan. The company will be able to use Vodafone's expertise to introduce a high-speed mobile network and develop solutions for broadband mobile access by attracting the leading world suppliers of technological equipment.

The partnership with Azerfon will allow Vodafone to offer its customers a range of services while expanding the usage of Azerbaijan's home network.

Both companies will cooperate closely to render high quality services for a global corporative of Vodafone clients in the region. Vodafone's products and services will expand under the trademarks of both companies in a co-branding agreement. As part of a stage-by-stage process Vodafone will provide Azerfon customers with improved sound and roaming services in the 67 countries where Vodafone is represented.
