Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan has finished work on drafting legal documents for the issuance of digital signature, director of scientific capacity and strategic planning department of the ministry Isfandiyar Aliyev told Trend on Friday.
According to Aliyev, the work is scheduled to be completed by the end of year. The final document will be submitted to the government.
The introduction of digital signatures is envisaged within the next stage of the State Program on development of communication and information technologies in Azerbaijan for 2010-2012, which aims to ensure the transition to an information society, building a competitive economy based on knowledge through ICT.
The project is implemented according to the law of Azerbaijan on electronic signature and electronic document.
