Number of broadband connections in Azerbaijan may increase by 15 percent by late 2011, Technical Director of Delta Telecom Rahid Alekberli told Trend.
He said a final lowering of leasing cost of international channels for Internet service providers by Delta Telecom will serve to it.
According to Alekberli, reduction in leasing cost, along with lowering the cost of services proposed by providers to end users, increase in traffic proposed by them will also have an impact on the number of ports, number of which will significantly increase.
At present, broadband Internet penetration rate in Azerbaijan hits 30 percent of the total volume of Internet service users, which in turn, constitutes 50 percent of the total population.
