AzEduNet educational network will be integrated with AzScienceNet scientific computer network, the Institute of Information Technologies of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences told Trend Apr. 20.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Education and the Institute of Information Technologies reached a principal agreement on technical work in that direction.
After integration of the educational network, the country's higher education institutions and specialists, candidates for doctor's degree and degrees of other educational institutions will have access to the services provided by the institute on the basis of a scientific computer network (Wi-Fi, Eduroam educational roaming service, cloud services and hosting services).
Earlier, the Institute of Information Technologies said that the Azerbaijani universities will have a free access to the GEANT multi-gigabit network.
Moreover, it is planned to organize joint seminars and conferences, train personnel, exchange experience as part of cooperation.
AzEduNet has the largest corporate network in Azerbaijan and about half of secondary schools in Azerbaijan get access to the Internet through AzEduNet educational network.
