Iran intends to expand roads in Ardabil Province to develop trade and transit relations with Azerbaijan, Governor of Ardabil Province Hamed Amili told reporters, Trend reports citing Iranian media.
The governor noted that the expansion of the Parsabad-Ardabil highway will help provide easier access to major cities in both countries.
“The railroad is one of the key factors in the development of relations between the two countries. In this regard, the connection of the Ardabil railway line to Azerbaijan will contribute to the development of trade relations,” he said.
There are Ardabil-Astara, Nir-Sarab, Ardabil-Mughan highways, as well as Ardabil-Parsabad and Ardabil-Mianeh railway lines being built in Iran's Ardabil Province.
