CSTO: Russia to establish united military base in Kyrgyzstan
A military base to unite all Russian military objects in Kyrgyzstan, including Kant airbase, will be established in the republic, Nikolai Bordyuzha, Secretary General for the Collective Security Treaty Organization told Russian mass media on October 14, "24.kg" reported.
"Memorandum signed between the Kyrgyz and Russian presidents provides for establishment of a single united airbase of the Russian Armed Forces to unite all the units, including the military base in Kant," mass media quoted as Bordyzha said.
Regulations for the base presence in the republic will be worked out in the nearest future, while duration of its deployment comes to 49 years, the memorandum details.
"Besides, the document provides for possible establishment of educational training center in Kyrgyzstan," the CSTO secretary general added.
