The Russian parliament will consider the ratification of agreement to cooperate with Tajikistan in the border issues, the Russian President's official website reported on Wednesday.
The agreement between the two countries was signed in Dushanbe on Sept. 2, 2011.
Previously, Tajikistan and Russia signed an agreement on the cooperation in border issues in 2004, which expired in April, 2011.
The new agreement is aimed to provide security on the borders of the two countries and contains Russian presence on the territory of Tajikistan within the group of border cooperation.
The agreement also provides the participation of Russian representatives in the improvement of state border guarding system of Tajikistan as well as Tajik border service's personnel training.
The agreement will allow the countries to cooperate in the areas of fighting terrorism, religious extremism, illegal migration and transnational organized criminal activity.
