Uzbekenergo JSC has completed construction of a new power unit at the Angren thermal power plant (Tashkent region of Uzbekistan) worth $242.6 million, Director General of the Angren thermal power plant JSC Dilshod Yulchiev told reporters Aug. 26.
“The new power unit with capacity of 130-150 MW with heat extraction for burning of high-ash coal has been commissioned,” said Yulchiev.
The power unit will annually generate 1.05 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and 642,200 Gcal of thermal power.
Nearly one million tons of low-grade coal accumulated in the process of production at the Angren open-pit coal mine will be annually used as fuel.
