President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on August 28 on improving management in the field of road transport and expanding the scale of rendering transport services, Uzbek media reported.
The Uzbek president instructed to prepare proposals on the organization of the Ministry of Transport.
It was noted at the meeting that the Uzbek Agency of Automobile Transport (formerly the Uzbek Agency for Automobile and River Transport) was unable to establish implementation of an integrated state policy for the development of the transport sector.
It was also noted that it is necessary to create a state body that will coordinate activities and implement a unified state policy in the field of road, rail and air transport, subway and river transport.
