BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. The Antimonopoly Committee of Uzbekistan takes actions for uninterrupted supply of the domestic market with sugar products, Trend reports via the press service of the committee.
According to the committee, for the uninterrupted supply of the domestic market with sugar products, the volume of exchange trading has been increased by an average of 30 percent.
Also, the committee asked entrepreneurs not to overprice sugar and not create inconvenience to consumers. The committee warned about the possibility of taking measures at unreasonably high prices in the manner prescribed by law.
“The suspension of sugar exports by Russia and Ukraine will not affect Uzbekistan in any way. The share of these countries in the market of Uzbekistan is only 2 percent. Local sugar producers buy raw materials in Brazil at prices below world exchange quotations,” the committee said.
According to the committee, the government takes the necessary measures to provide the population with sugar products in sufficient quantities and at affordable prices.
