Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting has rejected reports that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been granted additional airtime, Press TV reported.

IRIB revealed late Tuesday that no decision has yet been taken on the issue of the president seeking additional airtime to defend his record ahead of the Friday elections.

The IRIB report came in response to claims by officials in the Ahmadinejad camp that the president had been given 45 minutes to broadcast a message to the nation.

Iran has scheduled its 10th presidential elections for June 12.
