Iran seeks to increase goods turnover with Cuba ten times than the current volume, ISNA reported quoting First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi as saying.

"Iran appreciates bilateral ties with Cuba and seeks to improve the relations," he said in a meeting with Head of the Cuban Parliament Ricardo Alarcon Quesada Wednesday.

Rahimi stressed the necessity of expanding trade and commercial relations between the two countries.

Top Iranian official arrived in Havana on Tuesday to meet with senior Cuban officials over the expansion of mutual cooperation in various fields, specially in economy.

Rahimi, who is heading a politico-economic delegation on a visit to Havana, is to participate in the 15th session of the Iran-Cuba Joint Economic Commission and meet with top Cuban officials.

Upon arrival, Rahimi hailed Cuba as a "pioneer in the fight against the world arrogance", and declared that Iran "always stands in line with such countries guiding the ideals of the Islamic Revolution".

Iran has expanded friendly ties with Latin America, specially in economic, trade and industrial fields over the past few years.
