Work is almost finished on four new depots which will add a billion liters to Iran's fuel storage capacity.

The 300 million liter Kerman depot will be finished in the next four months, Mehr news agency reported on Monday.

A depot in Hamadan Province's Malayer will have the capacity to store 106 million liters of petroleum products when it becomes operational.

A third storage facility is in Khuzestan Province's port of Mahshahr and can hold 345 million liters of oil while another depot is in Shiraz, in Iran's Fars Province.

While work progressed smoothly on these four storage facilities, the contractor at the Birjand depot has been expelled and the project will be offered for bids again. That depot will be designed to hold about 70 million liters of fuel. Birjand is in South Khorasan Province in eastern Iran.
