Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan to hold joint meeting on narcotic drugs

Deputy Head of Iranian Drug Control Headquarters Babak Dinparast said on Wednesday that Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan will hold their 6th tripartite joint meeting to intensify fight against narcotic drugs and smugglers.

He was talking to IRNA on the sidelines of the second International Festival of the Press and News Agencies which kicked off on Tuesday in the Iranian capital city.

Dinparast said the tripartite meeting will be attended by three countries' interior ministers from November 5-6.

He said the first day of the meeting will be held at the level of anti-drug experts in which the United Nations deputy secretary general will participate.

He said the meeting will make use of existing opportunities and proposals to accelerate fights against narcotic drugs, adding that Iran and Afghanistan will hold mutual meetings to cooperate in this regard.

The 19th International Exhibition of the Press and News Agencies kicked off on October 28 at Imam Khomeini Prayers Ground in Tehran.
