Iranian head of Iran-Sudan parliamentary friendship group called for enhancing politico-economic relations, especially parliamentary ties, between Iran and Sudan, IRNA reported.

Nasser Sudani in a meeting with Sudan Ambassador to Tehran Mirghani Ababakr Eltayeb Bakhit here on Tuesday said that the two countries have great capacity in the fields of energy and mine and using them will open a new chapter in mutual friendly ties.

Sudani, who is a member of Majlis (parliament) energy commission, expressed pleasure with growing trend of bilateral ties, adding that holding joint Iran-Sudan commissions will be a suitable way to execute signed agreements.

He also called for acceleration of implementation of joint projects and agreements, especially in the field of economic cooperation.

The Sudanese ambassador, for his part, also underlined importance of expansion of economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries.

Mirghani Ababakr Eltayeb Bakhit said that expansion of trade and economic exchanges, especially in the sectors of mine and agriculture will create new opportunities for cooperation in different fields.

The envoy appreciated Iranˈs support for his country and said that Sudanese nation and government will never forget Iranian material and spiritual support.
