U.S. media magnate acquires Turkish TV channel

Rupert Merdok, one of the world media magnates, acquired the Turkish media group TGRT.

Trend special correspondent in Turkey reports that the cost of deal on acquisition of media outlets entering TGRT is amounted to $100m.

In accordance with the agreement, no share of TGRT is left for the former owner of Д°hlas Grubu. However, the logo of TGRT will be left unchanged.

Further the television channel will make more accent on entertaining programs.

Turkish television channel TGRT is also broadcasted to the territory of Azerbaijan.

Merdoks empire is comprised of 175 newspapers, including The Times, The Sunday TimРµs, New York Post, as well as 85 television channels. It also owns the famous film production company 21-th Century Fox and its wealth is estimated to $55bn.
