UAE minister says Iran-UAE strong ties a must

(IRNA) - The United Arab Emirates' minister of finance and industry underlined the necessity of strong ties of his country with neighboring Iran which, he said, have their roots in history, reports Trend.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashed Al-Makhtum told reporters at the opening ceremony on Monday of a construction and building materials exhibition dubbed `Big 5' that his country enjoys good relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dubai-based Al-Bayan daily quoted the minister as saying the ties of both countries have historical roots.

The deputy governor of Dubai added that the UAE government will never allow any problem to tarnish these two-way ties.

He further remarked that strong political, economic, social and historical relations exist between the Iranian and UAE nations and every effort should be made to bolster these ties.

He added that his country views Iran as a "good partner" for progress since Tehran has always been after development and security of the region.
